I went and saw him in Dubai about 6 years ago and it was a total waste of time from an egotistical twat who is reflecting in the glory of what once was. He isn't allowed to play many of the Pink Floyd songs so he plays his solo stuff which is very soft to say the least.
On a side note- my best mate worked at The Fairmont where he stayed in Dubai and no staff were allowed to look him in the eye or call him by his real name and his water had to be served at a very specific temperature- to the extent that they had to use a thermometer!

Well the title of the show suggests otherwise, and the write-up of the show says:

"Roger Waters, The Creative Genius of Pink Floyd is about to rock Hong Kong Performing the Dark Side of the Moon Live, with all the Pink Floyd classical hits including “Another Brick in the Wall”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Eclipse”, “In the Flesh”, “Comfortably Numb” & “Money” etc. It’s a show that cannot be missed."

And anyway, I've always reckoned The Final Cut (essentially a Waters album even though it was released under the name of Floyd) and Amused to Death were damn good albums, although I'm not sure how well they'd transfer to a live show...

Amazing!!

I saw the show in Hyde Park in June this year and it was fantastic. Did all the old stuff - Dark Side of the moon, Wish you were here, The Wall. Nick Mason was on drums and they even had one of the backing singers from the early days. It sounded almost as good as the real thing... Do it!

(I would but I'll be in the UK)

Pink Floyd or Roger Waters?

PDLM- reading that maybe there has been a reconciliation since then. The Dubai show was touted as a best of Floyd show but he only played money and one other, both songs which he wrote.

If that is the case then it should be a good show as those songs are classics and work well live.

Also nice to see that the ticket prices are realistic. If anything it will encourage people to come out and see a live band that they usually wouldn't.

Is that a take on "wish you were here" (but wasn't that Gilmour about Syd Barrett?).

I do remember seeing Gilmour and Waters together as recently as Live8 (video) which was only 2005 - doing Comfortably Numb. If it had been Gilmour (that "tongue-tied and twisted.. earth-bound misfit") coming, I'd have bought tickets in a heartbeat, but with Waters I'm still thinking about it (...a nudge from any of you?).
