Anyone can tell where to buy Nintendo Wii (US) in Hong Kong and how much? Does it work in Hong Kong? Any region problems?

how does the region hack work? How much does this modified console come out to? Will it be cheaper than us version?
I want to get wii that can play us games. What is the cheapest console for me to buy? US console or jap console modified to play us games? Would you know the current prices and where to get the best deal?

I have just bought a Wii ( US version) from Wan Chai 188. The store is called Dreamstore. It is on the 2nd floor , right at the front of the stairs. They charge me HK$2,850 for US console with one controller + Wii sports game.

I have to pay extra for an extra controller for HK$495.

They may be sold out now, but I saw one at the Wan Chai Computer Centre this weekend. That whole complex is kind of creepy, but if they've got what you need, it's kind of fun. It has the atmosphere of a swap meet or chopshop. I didn't see what the Wii was going for, but prices on most things less in demand there seemed negotiable, and if you're a good negotiator, the prices might be competitive. But I'd be surprised if you could get a Wii for less than US$600 (the going rate on eBay last I heard) without a hostage. People have literally DIED trying to get one, afterall. You might need two hostages.

they also have it in sham shui po at the computer centre there
they have both the japanese and US version, though there's a huge price differential between the them. i got quoted anywhere betwee $2700 to $3200 for the US one and significantly lower fro the Japanese one.

seriously i think there was a shipload of US wiis that somehow got rerouted from the US to HK since there is a ton here in HK whereas in the US they're all backlogged to the hills.

A dumb question but what is the difference between the US and Japanese versions? Is it just the menu language?
Can the game CDs be copied?
