1. Is there any food/restaurants/convenience stores/supermarkets and of course CAFE/COFFEE SHOP nearby within a walking distance?

2. What's the size of the double bed? Is it 4' or 4.5" wide?

3. Is there any storage space in the washroom? Is there much in the open kitchen?

4. How's the maid service?

1. yes in whampoa, which is about 5 mins walk, it's got Wellcome, Park n Shop, like a residential are with shopping centres etc....

3. washroom, just the area beneath the sink, enough for toiletries and towels, and perhaps bathroom slippers... what do you want to place inside??!? Open kitchen..... no idea....mine isn't that shape.... i don't recall too many cupboards though....

4. maid service is separate, they don't really wash plates or wash/iron clothes - acceptable.

Why don't you just take a look for yourself.
anyway I heard the units are now 13k for harbourview....

I'm still considering these apartments, will be in HK in about 10 days time.

Those who live there now, do any of you work in Central? If so, what has the commute been like?

Also what is the area like, in terms of local bars/pubs, eating establishments, etc?

This place is 'complaints-land'. Everyday I hear people demanding that their complaint letters get answered by the manager. Nothing gets done at this place if something goes wrong so if you choose to live here, make sure that you're willing to put up with the hassle or swallow the bitter pill if you find a hiccup. (Me and a few others have found rodents in our apartments, some have moved in finding the apartment uncleaned...basically it's a place of angry residents)

Commuting is ok as there's a hotel shuttle bus that takes you to Hung Hom and TST every 20 mins (used to be 30 mins but residents madly complained of the infrequency and constantly packed shuttles). However, if you're taking the shuttle to work in the morning, make sure you go downstairs way in advance (at least 15 minutes) or you won't get on board and will miss the one you're trying to catch. There are only 28 seats on the shuttle. Problem is, a lot of lazy people choose to take that instead of walking to Hung Hom in 5 minutes so the TST people, if they're late they have to seek alternatives to get there.

I work at Exchange Square in central so I take the shuttle to TST and transfer to either the MTR (if I want to save some time) or the ferry (if I want to enjoy the harbour view and breeze).

Walking distance to Hung Hom KCR so there are lots of fast food joints, restaurants etc. Also walking distance to Whampoa, a residential area with large supermarkets, tons of restaurants, entertainment (bowling, cinema). If you like a very local scene then you'll find it ok here.

Haven't really seen much of a pub scene. It's very family oriented in this part of town so it's quite quiet from 10pm onwards. I suggest either going to TST, Central or Wanchai for the drinks.

This Hung Hom bay area is supposedly an up and coming residential area but I think more for young local families or migrated locals that return to HK for long holidays once in a while. The main things I don't like about it is the service and the fact that it's a 'hotel' in the sense that you can actually get a room through travel agencies so the residents can get rowdy. It's a huge complex so it's worse that living in a college dorm. However, if you're ok with that then you should grab a unit ASAP. Being the first to live in it is better than the next because Cheung Kong is known for scrimping on the quality of their properties so everything would be probably falling apart by the time the next person moves in after you.

Attractive price but I would say it stops right there.

There is no trick. However, the quality of furnitures are poor. The worst part is the bed. The matress is as hard as stone.

The water pressure for kitchen is poor. The space of working tops is too small.

Also, the service of all the entrance lobby is too bad. They never tell you what they can do. They only tell you what they cannot do. This is really inconvenience for business people.

My advice is: you pay for what you are getting.

The apartments are located next to Hunghom KCR station and the Metropolis. The apartments of the metropolis cost at least 20K per month and only for 1 Bedroom.

Does anybody knows more or what they maybe hide? I am considering to rent there my place.

Many thanks to the original poster for bringing this place to my attention. Not too bad of a deal if you are not a high maintenance type person. I moved in a few weeks ago. 12500 for Tower 1 with excellent Hong Kong City view. The courtyard side apartments are still 9900 and do have a good view also. There seems to be quite a few empty units.

My only complaint is having a 6 month contract and having to a pay one month rent penalty for breaking it, which is what I will have to do.

When you say Hong Kong City, do you mean you don't see the harbor? If you do have a harbor view, do you look at Wanchai (convention center) or North Point? Also, are you on 30+th floor?
