job or staff agencies

hi,

does anyone have any experience of using job or staff agencies in Hong Kong or know any good agencies?

I don't mean any internet agencies - no luck getting a job in that dept

My spoken and speaking Cantonese are pretty lame and my written chinese is non-existent. I have a ID card so working here wouldn't be a problem, it is just the language barrier.

Thanks,

I know a few names.

You can try Manpower, Adecco, Kelly Services, Michael Page. Let me how it goes. Good luck.

I tried using Manpower for temp staff and the fee they charge is awful. For example, for office staff if I pay them 10,000 the poor employee gets abt 6800.00.

I won't use them again.

Is the success rate of using an agency high or low? Is it better to stick to the newspapers instead?

Depends on which agency and which industry you're looking at.

Personally I'd stick with networking and not bother with those agencies if you're looking for anything more than admin type roles.
