| | | The Sha Tin animal clinic is pretty good, we used them to get my dog fixed and my wifes 3 rabbits. They did a very good job, and took good care of our pets while they were in. The staff and the Vet knew what they were talking about and were very helpful to us. The price was very good also. | |

| | | No first hand experience but they are part of the same group as Wanchai/Victory Clinics and seem to provide decent services from what I've heard. | |

i heard that the small animal and exotic pets clinic in tai wai is excellent. i believe they have been in the newspapers and also seem to be quite respected throughout the animal loving community.

| | | Ok - next question, how on earth do you *find* the shatin animal clinic, I spent ages this morning wandering round the Chanway Shopping Centre looking for it. Can anyone help? I found the Green Cross one ok.
en_sursis - thanks for the tip about Tai Wai, I'll investigate that one too.

| | | I've never visited Shatin Animal Clinic. I used to visit Victory Animal Clinic and Shatin/Wanchai/Victory/Sai Kung all belong together. Just want to share my experience.
I used to bring my dog to Victory to see Dr. Owen Swan. He seemed very good and the charges seemed reasonable. My dog started suffering from kidney failure last year. I 've never had this kind of experience and therefore trusted Dr. Swan to treat her. He gave her different kinds of medicine for a few months. My dog's situation got worse and worse and eventually, he said there wasn't anything else he could do and that my dog would leave soon. I then took my dog to Wanchai Animal Clinic since another vet there said he had a different way to treat kidney failure. That was my only choice at that time. Bascially, my dog was hospitalised for 4 days and was put on a drip. This treatment helped her but only lasted for a few days. The bill was really quite expensive. The vet said this treatment need to be done everytime my dog became weak again (which meant at least a couple of times each month). Luckily, a friend recommended another vet and he used the most common method (I was never told about this option at Victory/Wanchai). My dog is now a lot better and this method is also a lot cheaper. Not long after I stopped visiting Victory, I was told that the main vets at this chain clinic used to be good when they first came to HK a few years ago. But they have become more business. Making money is more important than ethics now. I also compared the charges between Victory/Wanchai and this clinic. I was very shocked! Almost everything is more expensive at Victory/Wanchai and certain things can be 4 times more expensive!
Another person also used to take her dog to Victory (Dr. Swan as well). He operated on the dog and it was fine. The dog died after 2 days, but the vet refused to give her an explanation. You never know whether a vet is good or not until something serious happens to your pet.
This is my own experience and what I've heard about this vet and their clinics.

| | | I have posted a more detailed message about my experince at Victory Animal Clinic. Also want to say that a friend of mine also used to bring her cats there. One of the vets had a lot of difficulty in drawing blood. The cat had a needle put in its arm 4 times before the vet successfully drew blood from it. He said the cat was in quite a lot of pain. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 08:20 PM. | |
