Jashan next to the escalator at Hollywood Road is really good and Tandoor on Lydhurst Terrace is also good but their service can be a bit slack. Both have alot of Indian customers which has to be agood sign. Can't comment on the spiciness though - I have mine very mild.

There are some restaurants that have the original Indian taste while others that have blended the local preferences to appeal to a larger customer base.

I find the food in Viceroy, Bombay Dreams and Khana Khazana to be quite authentic. Prices and service is in the order listed.

There are some good ones on the second and third floors above the bars in Lan Kwai Fong- above Al's Diner.

I'd go with Bombay Dreams as my top choice and Jashan / Tandoor as second choices.

Then again, if you're looking for the UK style of authenticity ... your choices might differ.

Veda used to be popular with the oh-so-posh people .. not been hearing the hype lately.

Maharani Indian Cuisine is easily the best, tel: 2891 66525. You can usually find a guy on the street promoting. There's another which has a different selection but not so good, although my niece liked the fish.

The Indian Club in Jordan is pretty good, comedy Curry in a Hurry fast food.

Do not expect even remotely speedy service, its very slow, just good food.

Points to remember when looking for a good curry house: Chinese can take some spicy food but not an entire meal or every day. Many Americans cannot eat anything even remotely mild.

Cafe Deco on The Peak also has a good range of Indian food too, very tender, not too spicy.

Similarly with Thai food, its not easy to find a Thai restaurant that serves spicy food: there's one in Mong Kok, and many around the old airport.

Not when you go to the buffet! You sit down and can be eating as quickly as you can fill your plate.
