Purchasing advice for a MacBook needed

Morning all and thanks for troubling to stop by. I will be arriving in HK late December and would like to pre-arrange purchase of specifically a MacBook 13 inch black, and a JVC 20g hard disk camcorder.

So far it seems that Apple control prices so effectively that online searching only reveals full retail pricing. Having the same problem with the JVC. The other problem is broken and non functiong links. So being old fat and technologically challenged, I turn to you all for help.

Can anyone reccommend stores that will negotiate on pricing and or extras for these items. Alternately can anyone help with working links to likely places.

BTW should I be aware of any issues regarding software and or hardware piracy or regional issues that would affect eventual usage of these in Australia?

To any one who can help.................thank you.

Mike.

I was playing with Bootcamp the other day- very wierd to have Windows on your Mac!

What gifts did you get?

whats great is that if you get the new parallels...you can use your bootcamp partition and boot it up in a window while in OSX with no restart

and you can restart and boot in windows....

and you can get an osx emulator.....to boot osx in a window on the windows side

Thanks everyone, your answers have confirmed my suspicions and will save me a lot of wasted boot leather and time chasing a non-existant bargain.

You're right about the M/soft capability of the Mac Black, a not entirely desirable thing but a necessity in a Bill Gates dominated world.

AND it has the duo 2 processor, yummmmmmm.

Mike
