Hi there!
Need some good advise.

My work visa application was submitted about 3 weeks ago by my sponsor. Besides waiting for it, what else can I do? Call the immigration? E-mail them?

How long does it take for my sponsor to receive the ID813 as acknowledgement of receipt?

in usual circumstances, the wait is minimum 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer. if you call them too early, they say it just prolongs the process.

so, what can you do??? get an early start on your christmas shopping, explore HK while you've got the time, take a weekend trip to bkk, china, taiwan, etc. there are some cheap things to be had before christmas, go to the cinema, check out a wetmarket and try to cook some chinese food at home...

keep yourself occupied and your mind on something else. once you start working, you'll not have time to enjoy life...
