Leaving HK - How to ship boxes?

Hello All,

After one year of a great time in HK it is time to leave.
During this year I accumulated some stuff and I'd appreciate some ideas of how to move (send) my things back to the US. General things like clothes and personal items will go with me on the luggage but does someone know how to send boxes (with shoes, extra clothes, less expensive electronics, etc) and I have two accoustic guitars (no hard case).

I am looking for a transportation method that is not to expensive and that I can trust on the delivery and care of the boxes.

Thank you very much,
Daniel

My parents used to send a digital electronics piano, the clothes and shoes to me when I was in Canada. They sent them by ocean via DHL. It doesn't cost that much.

Hi Connie,

Long time don't see you, hope everything is ok. Thanks for the idea, I'll check DHL.

Cheers,
Daniel

Leaving so soon??

Anyways, mailing packages from Hong Kong to US is not that expensive, unlike the other way round. If by normal post they go by kg. just check with the post office to see what their largest boxes are. The mail will take about 2 weeks, my parents used to send me lots of clothes, shoes etc. that way. Very hassle free. The post system from here is very good. Although if you're planning on sending things by Xmas, you should do it soon or make sure you have ample time to deal with them because it gets very busy during this time of the year and the post time is often longer than usual.

Hope to see you again before you leave!

Just called DHL and was told "sorry sir, can not ship personal belongings by ocean freight"

http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com did a great job for me and for others I know. Quotes available on the website. Door-to-door service. SMS notification of pickups and drop-offs. Excellent.
