Netvigator Slow??

This weekend my Netvigator connection is super slow and I'm having trouble connecting to some sites such as slashdot.org.

Anyone else having issues?

I can only get a vague recollection of when i did not have a slow day with netvigator.
IE. my connection drop as soon as there is rain, and it doesnt have to be much rain either just a few drops will take it down.
And they have been here a good 10 times now to fix it but the result is still the same.

There are a bunch of sites not accessible this weekend in hong kong, and no news about it on netvigators page, sites such as:

slashdot.org
fbtz.com
footurls.com

even sourceforge isnt working....

@work lines seem to be fine....

My broadband is slow too. Almost always.

I used a computer elsewhere this week and marveled at how fast their connection was. I'd say two times faster than mine.

Yep..Its been slow for the past week or so. Called up CS and they say the phone lines in Kowloon are old.
I'll call them again today.

Hmm, turned off everything waited for 5 minutes and turned it back on.

Now, I'm on a different IP address range and things are back to normal.

Looks like they have a problem with a certain range of IP addresses.

I've often found that a full reset of the connection occasionally is a good thing for any broadband, not just Netvigator. And yes, the IP address block thing seems to be not uncommon... Generally I've fel that the average external (to HK) bandwidth has been getting a bit better again over the last couple of months - I'm frequently getting download speeds approaching the nominal speed of my line (6MBps), whereas a few months back I was lucky to get 2MBps.
