| | | Living in Sai Kung Hi everyone
Myself and my partner are currently looking to rent a small village house in the Sai Kung area. We visited Sai Kung yesterday and fell in love with the place. Had a look at some village houses in Ho Chung (which were not so great, very close together and very damp).
We don't have a car, so what is it like commuting to Kowloon where we both work? Travelling on the mini bus yesterday took about 35mins from Mong Kok, but what is it like in peak times, specifically in the mornings?
Can anyone recommend any villages/areas in Sai Kung which are good for public transport to Kowloon and cheap (3 - 4K per month). We are not looking for anything flash, just something that has a view other than our neighbours wall.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

| | | Hey Cheese, did you consider places off Clearwater Bay Road which are equally nice and more accessible? | |

| | | to be honest you're not going to get anywhere with a view for 3-4k a month, 6k only gets you a partial view of the water for example.
Avoid the villages near the town as they will be pretty close together, But then the problem you have there is the wait for a minibus as obviously they run from the centre of sai kung and the further out you are the longer you'll have to wait for a minibus with empty seats.
thats the only real problem with sai kung to be honest.

| | | Thanks Discobay, I will check out Clearwater Bay Road.
Cheers Jimbo, yeah I suspected that might be the case with 3 - 4K. Not too bothered about a view of the sea, although it would be great. Just something other than the neighbours wall less than 1m away. The villages houses we looked at in Ho Chung were incredibly close together, very dark and damp. Will take a look at villages a little further from Sai Kung. Thanks.

| | | I looked at those before and whilst it was convenient they were too darn close together.
Try some of the villages heading towards clearwater bay and hang hau etc. Not as tightly packed together but will be a little bit more over your budget at around 6k.
