Turkey dinner from Mandarin Oriental

Hi,

I'm trying to find a place to cater Thanksgiving Dinner this week. Has anyone tried the Turkey Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental?

http://www.mandarinoriental.com/hotel/514000438.asp

Does anyone know any other good places to get catered Thanksgiving dinners?

Thanks!

Can alspo try the Ritz

We had looked at Mandarin hampers for our Thanksgiving meal but ended up going with The Ritz Carlton hamper. It worked out great - around $1650 including delivery. Came with several sides and we just made two salads and a desert to add into the mix. It served 7 people with plenty turkey left for the ritual turkey sandwiches the next day. Just had to quickly carve the turkey and then briefly re-heat it up along with the sides in the toaster oven for a few minutes (probably could have used the microwave instead).

They have the same deal going on for Christmas as well.

One of our advertisers has a special christmas menu.

We'll be promoting a lucky draw shortly -- so if you call them, make sure you tell them to enter you in the lucky draw.

18lbs of Turkey??

KIA,

Is it just me or is that menu not so good for families of 2? I don't know if hubby and I can absorb 18-20 lbs of turkey (4lbs of potatoes, etc) over Christmas. And that's saying alot as we are eaters...

Wonder if I can get 4lbs of turkey...

Sadly I don't have 10 local friends but I suppose if I started offering free turkey dinner that might change, at least til everyone's full

Our turkey ritual usually leaves a fair bit of left overs....

Day 1 and 2 -- Turkey as is
Day 3 and 4 -- Turkey Sandwiches
Day 4 and 5 -- Turkey Fajitas, Turkey Chow Fan

We then spend 360 days recovering from Turkey induced halucinations...

no can freeze

Katanga,

Sadly I can not freeze leftovers either as our fridge/freezer is teeny-tiny. But my 4lb est for 2 people included 'bone weight' really we can eat 4lbs of meat, so now I've accounted for 8lbs, plus my 'lil pug dog can eat 1/2 her weight in turkey, so maybe I'd just have 5-6lbs leftover...

Will think about it
