spaceman is on a distinguished road
Coca Cola? That's fuel for the fire! That would be quite the question: which worse for you, cola or msg?

As for eating in, I suppose I need to find someone to cook for me I guess. I love my chinese food because it's so darn cheap - cheaper than cooking for one. I'll try asking the guys at my 'local' joint for no MSG tonight, and see what funny faces they give me. Will report back tomorrow.

You should stay away from dihydrogen monoxide too, now that stuff is lethal, and it's *everywhere* in Hong Kong. It's a wonder it doesn't get more press.

Hahah...at the end of it...we'll all call it a day...but before that happens, I want to be able to buy clothes in HK. The oil that I was slurping down...added some inches to my waist!

I take it you haven't heard about the use of formaldehyde by some breweries, or the chemicals in glass bottles that are leading to a 50% reduction in male fertility in every successive generation?

And wine is out, I once picked grapes in France and they asked us to pee on them to increase the body (still drank it of course and perhaps they are right!)

MSG has no connection with Chinese Restaurant Syndrome
'Chinese Restaurant Syndrome' describes transient discomfort some people feel after ingesting certain foods and beverages. A comprehensive review and strictly controlled study at the University of Western Sydney in 1993 concluded 'Chinese Restaurant Syndrome' is an anecdote applied to a variety of postprandial illnesses; rigorous and realistic scientific evidence linking the syndrome to MSG could not be found

I was living in Sydney in 1990 and 1993 and Chinatown was some shops on one street. Not very representative of real Chinese food methinks.
