hooks for paintings?

WHere can I buy good hooks for paintings that doesn't cause damage to walls? My landlord is the hardest to talk to so I want to just buy a sturdy one that I can remove after my lease is over, and wouldnt damage the wall.

The best I have found is the clip rail system.
It's a rail you place at the top of the wall where the wall meets the ceiling and then use wire or nylon thread to hang the pictures. The one we have is fully enclosed so you can't see the hooks and stuff.

You can see details at:
http://www.artestuff.com/index.php?c...7512a666e3a4b7
or just Google clip rail.

Can't remember the name of the gallery/shop but it's located at Kowloon Tong, I think it's on the 2nd level.

There office is at:

Minitrade Limited
15-33 Kwai Tak Street
KWAI CHUNG
HONG KONG

Thanks for your reply. But the whole rail will be seen? Also, the screws will be punched to the wall?

Well yes, but unless you can find something that defies the laws of gravity, there's no way you're going to be able to hang pictures (or any significant weight) on a wall without making a hole in it.

yep. But if your walls are like mine (concrete and plaster) then there are not too many options. There are picture hooks which have 4 small nails that bite into the plaster but I found these very unreliable and when you remove them you also remove a chunk of plaster.

For large pictures I ended up drilling a hole and using a raw-plug but this is not very neat. In the end I re-plastered the wall and purchased the clip rail system.

Thanks guys. I think I'll ask permission then. If not, I'll make sure my next landlord agrees to putting one nail.

Coolgirl - It's seems a little severe if your landlord really won't allow anything on the walls. For concrete walls you can put up a few small screws, and then plaster-fill the holes when you move out. Just make sure you drill deep enough so that the plug is a little depressed into the wall and can be completely filled-in externally. If your walls are white it's really almost impossible to see (you'd have to look very, very closely). I've done this a few times with "difficult" landlords. Nothing crazy, mind you...just a select few pictures on the wall so it's not quite so monotone in the apartment.
