| Using my Nokia 3230 as bluetooth modem for PDA (I am posting this message 2X in different forums in case one is more appropriate than the other) Hi all. I know this is Hong Kong forum, but I am guessing there will be some techies out there who have had experience with this. So here it is in a nutshell. I have a Nokia 3230 phone, with bluetooth. It connects via WAP to the internet with no problems and I can use it to connect to any old site I like. However the GPRS option for connection does not work, just wap. What I would like to do it use my phone as a Bluetooth Modem to connect my Acer N50 PDA to the internet remotely, anywhere. I have read many posts in the past about INIT strings (CGDCONT=1,"IP","cmnet" etc) and the dialing numbers (*99#, *99***#1 etc) but I have had no luck actually getting it working. So what I am needing to know is: Is it possible to connect my PDA to my mobile phone via WAP in order to have internet on my PDA instead of just my little phone? Would be soooooo helpful since the Acer N50 has USB in so I can use a keyboard and mouse instead of typing into the phones keypad. Any ideas or suggestions on how to either get my phone working as a bluetooth modem, or other reasonable PDA internet alternatives in Shenzhen? Thanks a bunch! sirant |
