Birkenstock in HK

hi people, may I know where can i find authentic birkenstock in hk and how are the prices like?
i'll be going over during the 1st week of december and was thinking of getting some pairs as it's really expensive here in Singapore.. around SGD100+ for a pair of papillio.
and how will the climate be like during early december? 10+ degrees?
many thanks!

There are quite a few Birkenstock stores around (the website only lists the Causeway Bay one), I don't remember the locations of all of them, but the ones I can remember off the top of my head and easiest to get to are:

Shop 611-612 Times Square, Causeway Bay
Silvercord, Tsim Sha Tsui
APM mall, Kwun Tong (I doubt you'll go this far)

Those stores sell Birkenstocks only and should have a wider range. Other stores such as Sportshouse (chain) will have a smaller selection of them.

The local telephone no. to call for enquiries is (852) 2422-3882 (the Causeway Bay store).

As for pricing, a pair of Bostons will set you back about HK$650, and a pair of Londons about HK$900. Not to say you shouldn't buy them here, but if you're heading to Taiwan any time soon they're slightly cheaper than in HK and they have many more styles (esp. limited editions). I have 7 pairs of Birkenstocks and not one of them were bought here :P

Early Dec is likely to be quite warm still. I'd say close to 20 deg C, plus of minus 4C or so. You can try checking out the trends on www.bbc.co.uk/weather.

There is also a store in Times Square in Causeway Bay. Possibly also in the Silvercord Center in TST.

thank you jgl =)
most probably i'll visit the store in TST as my hotel is just right beside jordan mtr station.

another question though: do all the street stalls (eg fa yuen street, ladies street) sell only winter wear during the winter season? or do they sell the usual clothes throughout the year?

I'm not 100% positive that there was a Birkenstock store there, mind you. I just vagely recall walking around in there a month ago whilst looking for the Lafuma store.

Besides Birkenstock, there is another shoe brand called Earth which is rated "better Birkenstock" by the Sunday Mail in UK. Search for them on the web.

Yeah, Birks are a bit overrated, IMO. I've got a pair, but they haven't lived up to the hype.

I buy mine from Stanley Market for 350 HKD: they're real, I can tell, I own about 10 pairs... and I won't touch the fake ones...
