| Strange folder appeared on my PC Hello Found this folder which has appeared on my PC: C:\4d50f6fce05fff35af56761e5238\update\ contains one file, setup.exe Looks like some nasty malware to me. Anyone able to shed any light on this? Thanks |

| might actually be a Windows patch that either was interrupted during setup, or didn't delete the temp folder it used after running. did you run windows update recently or downloaded a patch and installed it on your own? but you could also be right about this being malware...i'd do some scans just to be safe. - bernard |

| thanks bernard. I didn't think windows updates set up from the root folder. Could be wrong. But no, I haven't run windows update or any other update that I can think of, and it is a new install of windows. I have done a spyware scan and nothing, so maybe nothing to worry about. |

| Just noticed a similar folder and subfolder too after showing hidden files and folders. I am sure it is harmless as I'm a "safe surfer" normally. I've deleted them. |
