Dear pet lovers,

Before anyone shoot me down...I really really want to a black/apricot or brown poodle. Been surfing through the dog rescue places, they don't seem to have a poodle. So does anyone know of a good and reputable person that I get buy from?

please click on the above link. they have other links to all the local adoption organisations. one of them which i think was companion animal federation (caf) has a mini poodle and i think hk dog rescue has a poodle cross. the mini poodle is white but it needs a home.

if you really want a brown poodle, just wait a while longer as i am sure there will be loads in the shelters soon as they have recently become popular. when the locals are fed up with them, they will end up in the shelters for sure.

after the movie 'eight below' came out, huskies became popular and now you can find them in shelters.

have a look at all the shelters anyway sunniefaith and just see if there is one that catches your eye.

There is a very cute brown & black Airedale in HKDR. This breed looks exactly a poodle (so, same type of hair & outlook), but is just a little bigger (labrador-size). They're a very sweet disposition. Don't know if that's close to what you're looking for, but have a look on the website (page 3 of the dog listings). The name of the dog is "Doodles".

Sunniefaith - just found out "Doodles" got homed last week...yeah!....haven't seen anymore poodles pop up at HKDR, but will keep a lookout for you. In meantime found this link about how to go about buying a dog from a breeder. I think it's a Canadian link, so nothing specific to HK, but it still has allot of good info should you decide to go that route:

Hiya. There is apricot poodle (i think, well it looks like one) here in local shop.

Whereabouts in Yuen Long? I'm on Park Island, not too far. Might pop by Yuen Long to have a look at the pet shops. Not sure if you can tell, do the dogs seem happy in the pet shops?
