SPCA in Sai Kung

Avoid them. We had are dog there for a sterilization. His wound was bleeding when we picked him up and he had swelling. No pain meds, no anrtibiotics. Dr. A.W.

Dr. never spoke to my wife about anything. Dog is still suffering.

That's terrible! If you have the time, call SPCA in Wanchai, get one of their vets on the line, or one of their managers and complain to them. If the vet in Sai Kung is that poor, they need to know about it and he needs to go...immediately! If you'd prefer someone else (like me) to do it, I'd be more than happy to oblige (assuming you would consent of course). Let me know via PM.

By the way, if your dog is still suffering and you need someone qualified to come see him, you can try these guys.

They do home visits & are very good (not that cheap, however). I've used them for my own pets, and know others that have used them so they're a solid recommendation.

Hello David,

It is a shame to hear about your dog's suffering. However, need I ask, have you tried to discuss this issue with the Vet involved? Even so, it is probably not the best option to label a clinic as bad due to one incident. Do bear in mind, it is not uncommon to have bleeding and swelling post-operatively, and antibiotics and analgesia are not routinely offered in all clinics. Have a chat to Dr A.W if you have any issues with his/her work.

If you have any problems feel free to PM me.

HI David,

Probably too late now but as I know SK quite well thought I'd chip in as well.

Hopefully your dog should be totally recovered by now.

As mentioned before, it would eb worth going in to see AW and talk directly to him - there may have been some miscommunication somewhere especially if was involved in surgery elsewhere when your wife came to collect.

If things can't be resolved though, there are several good options in Sai Kung still.

Think you would be happy with anyone of the following:

Dr Mary
SK Animal Hospital.

Dr Mike
Pets Central

Dr Peter
SK Animal Medical Center

Best of luck.
