| | | Where to eat dog? Sorry about this. I am serious. Is it legal in Hong Kong? If yes, can I find restaurants selling that? Thanks. | |

| | | RastaMan, forget about dog meat. There is nothing special about it. Eat beef and it's the same.
Dog meat it's a tradition of North China and in the hutong of Beijing in '97 there were quite a few shops selling it. In Shanghai there are also few places selling it. It's a disgusting thing also for a lot of Chinese I know.
If you really can't live without it I suggest you to head to Guangzhou. They are famous for eating almost everything.
There is an area of Italy where there is the tradition of eating cat meat. People there say that cat is even better than rabbit. I never tried and I'm not willing to.

| | | On Cat Meat, does anyone remember the Fangji Cat Meatball Restaurant in Shenzhen? That didn't last long - caused a bit of an outrage. As Bobbybo says, GZ is the place for all kinds of food. | |

| | | Before eating dog meat, do you realise how much pain does the dog go through before it dies? Apparently, a dog is somewhat burnt to death. | |

| | | Serving dog or cat meat is illegal in Hong Kong.
You should be able to find either in Guangdong. Dog is commonly eaten in the Philippines, although that may be a bit far to go on a special trip.
As someone said, it isn't anything special - all the dog I have ever had was quite tough and stringy with no great flavour.

| | | I had it before (in Vietnam and Laos) and it's delicious and I would love to eat it again.
As for the poor dog... stuff, I don't feel any more sorry for the dog than for the chicken, cow, sheep, etc. that I eat sometimes. Why should a dog be any different? Though of course I wouldn't want the dog to be burned to death or something... | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 11:02 AM.
