| | | Job Interview while overseas Hi all,
I need some of your expertises and experiences again:
I've been offered an interview and I am not in Hong Kong Anymore.
I've stated that I do not hold a working visa and yet the agent asked me to come to HK and go for the interview, saying that the employer thinks I might be suitable for the position and want me to take some 30 mins test.
Have anyone had this experience before? and Any advices on dealing with this?
Thanks in advance | |

Thanks in advance | You said agent meaning head hunter? They dont give a flying f about you only the comission the greedy baztards can earn. Tell them to pay for your expenses and you will come and watch them run away.

| | | The other thing to keep in mind is sometimes the HH has a candidate in mind but needs to send a couple more people. In your case could say hey I went to Aus and got this person. Not saying it is the case but you have to look out for yourself with HHs. They work for themself 1st then the co then you. My 2 cents. If its Korn Ferry calling you then diff story but they would be classy enough to interview you in Aus and arrange even for the co to visit all Aus candidates. | |

| | | in most cases,
- if its a position and the HH has several candidates all over the region, most of the interviews for early screening wld be done thru phone/video interviews. finally if there are 2 candidates or if they just want to verify 1 candidate to make certain the suitability, the company will pay to fly this person in for an interview.
- if the HH managed to get 5-10 ppl for interview in the same city, the hiring company wld fly in over a weekend or something and carry out the interview in the country.
- unless if u happen to have plans to go to the country, u might tell the HH to arrange it that way and meet up with the hiring manager.
it is irresponsible for HH to ask you to fly in on your own expenses.
A good HH usually will take more care to protect their own reputation and not do such a low balling act.

| | | not sure if it's wise to spit out the agent's name and employers...
but yeah, flying for just an interview is not what i'd like to do too.
im quite confident with whatever tests they are giving out, but i'm just afraid that altho the employer want to offer me a position, but i couldn't get the working visa.

| | Well HH might thought you just across the boarder and can take KCRC back for the test. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 12:36 AM. | |
