List of Dog friendly buildings, apartments and complexes

Seeing that people ask where is a nice pet friendly place to live in. I thought of putting up a list. Just add along.

Park Island (where I live)

Hmmm...it's not always that easy I'm afraid. Even if the building management allows pets, your landlord may not, and visa versa. The landlord has the right to exclude them in the rental contract. The building management has the right to exclude them from the building. Having spent quite a bit of time looking at apartments with 2 cats I've found the only way to be really sure is to work with the real estate agent...

Submariner is an unknown quantity at this point.
True, but I still think it's a pretty good idea. I think the biggest hurdle is the building management. I've heard from locals that landlords are often flexible with pets. When looking at apartments online, I would love to see which buildings are pet friendly. It would help to narrow down one's choices. As long as the building accepts pets, we always have the option of negotiating the pet issue with the landlord.

en_sursis will become famous soon enough
hi there,

i think it would be a great idea to have a list of pet-friendly apartments especially for the expat community since that question so often pops up in forums.
but as nina70 said, there are always glitches as even if the landlord agrees there is always a chance that the management may issue a notice for eviction. even if a developer promotes their complex as pet-friendly, you will find that there are clauses on the property deed that stipulates their actual rights concerning pets.
new complexes are mostly pet unfriendly. the only new pet-friendly developments i am aware of are carribean coast, park island and noble hill in sheung shui which even has a dog zone in the clubhouse with on-site vets and dog-walkers etc...all these developments do have clauses as well.
otherwise buildings that are around 30 years old allow dogs such as those in kowloon tong, happy valley, ho man tin etc... usually these are standalone buildings where the management is mainly run by the owners corporation rather than an official management company.

Submariner (finally spelt your name right!)...good point, good point. My building is Lei Shun Court in Causeway Bay. It's one of the older (much older) buildings that en_sursis mentioned which do support pets in general.

I was up in High Cliff/The Summit (on Stubbs Road, E. Mid-levels, we call them the "chopsticks") in mid-levels last week and saw pets up there. Very pricey building, but definitely pet friendly. Have also seen friends in Branksome (Mid-levels) which is also v.pricey, but pet friendly.

Was out by Residence Bel-Air (Cyberport) today. Lots of dogs being walked (coming out from the residence), Also, do know someone with cats there, so I think you can add this to the list. .
