thanks to all for your help. probably like the rest of the people looking for apartments in this area, i'm looking at park island, seacrest, and caribbean. kinda feeling good about this since no one has complained about anything too serious like bugs or brown water out of the sinks.

There are little flies, mossies and bugs but it's not anything out of the norm or scary in PI. Very typical type of pests. And no..no....no brown water out of the tap. But having said that, I don't drink tap water. But this is just me. Even when living in Spore and Australia, I almost never drink tap water at all. I drink filtered or distilled water. I get watsons to send me water.

I think Park Island has some of the cleanest water in Hong Kong?

That said, I don't drink out of the tap either... I get my H2O supply from Watsons too... I mean, it's just not worth the potential health risk to me, when buying it from Watsons is so cheap. A 18L bottle is $40.5HKD...

For you American folks out there... It's just under $1.10USD per gallon.
