Hi!

Do anyone know of any catholic churches in Hong Kong, or even better in the Happy Valley area??

Is anyone interested in joining me?

I have been wanting to go since I arrived here, but I don't want to go on my own!

St Margaret's Church is located in Happy Valley and the English mass is on 12.30pm every Sunday.

I love St Margaret's - but you can also check out the chapel (it's called that but it's more of a church) in St Paul's Convent, in Causeway Bay, that's near by as well, as a back up for when you can't make the St M's mass.

I heard a rumour that the masses get really full up and you have to get there early (not enough space for demand). Is this true?

It's true. I don't know about St. Margaret's but the church in Causeway Bay gets full during Sunday Mass so its best to get there early if you want to have a seat.

So does St Joseph in the Garden Rd, but I've never had a problem in the Cathedral in Caine Rd as it's pretty big.

are there active communities of young catholics (25-35) in HK - or does it tend to be older folks & families?

anyone know if there are any catholic volunteer organizations - i've done work with st vincent de paul groups in US & UK - would be interested in something similar...

The Holy Rosary church in the Tsim Sha Tsui area (across the street from the Museum of Natural History) has volunteer groups for various causes. I don't know their phone number, but there will always be someone at their office to entertain your questions if you pay them a visit.
