I've just moved from Australia and one of my great passions is wine and food. I would like to meet other wine lovers with the hope of this evolving into a regular catch up. I am not interested in just drinking the fanciest labels (although that can be good), I am far more interested in drinking good, interesting wine with some nice food (BYO ideally) and good conversation. Let me know if anyone's interested and I'll look to get something organised.

one issue though - i've found that most restaurants in hk charge ridiculous amounts for corkage (usually about $200), which wouldn't be such a huge problem if their wine lists were half decent/not ridiculously overpriced/existed.

I am 100% in, love good food and love good wine. By good wine I also agree it doesn't have to be expensive. Just tell me where and when this is gunna happen, andy c. Please PM me or post the details here. Plenty of notice would be good, people's diaries tend to get very full here in HK with so much eating, drinking and socialising going on.

By the way, I would really like to increase my knowledge of wine. Anybody want to do a wine appreciation course with me? I'm thinking something like a 1 day Saturday or Sunday course or maybe 2 or 3 weeknight 2 hour sessions. Anyone know of a good wine appreciation course in HK?
