You would be very unlikely to get an Employment Visa for such a low paying job...

Ladies & Gents,

I've been browsing the posted messages and have found a wealth of information, especially from Expatriate & Wolfie. I do have a few more questions and would appreciate everyone's response. Basically, I'm moving to Hk at the end of the year and my office is at Queensway, HK. I don't want to pay anything more than HK $11,500 for rent and was wondering which districts would fit my criteria while also being close to my work. And, is 550 sf too high of an expectation? I've talked to several friends whose lived in HK or goes there often and most of them told me the same things. That rent is hell expensive but everything else is pretty cheap or manageable. I'm quite a big guy, 6-4, and eat alot so food is my next top priority. So, people tell me that, generally, local food is cheap unless you dine at the expat restaurants (I-Banker) and, of course, it varies w/ lifestyle preference. However, a friend just emailed me telling me that he pays about US $2,500 in rent and that food is expensive. I haven't had the chance to get the details so I'm here for all your input.
One more thing, this is a dumb question, but can you bring a bike onto a MTR. I've heard HK has some of the best trails in Asia and I'm into mountain biking. Lastly, it would be great if you guys can email me at peij73@yahoo.com and apologize for the long blurb.
