I will be going to the US this Christmas and would like to roam with my Smartone Mobile Broadband. They also claim to have HSDPA coverage in Illinois where I am going. I was wondering if anyone knew of anyway to get a cost reduction on roaming. At .12 a k HSDPA is pretty worthless while roaming.

Here are some tips for you to better control the roaming expense: -

· Plan a budget beforehand for roaming recharge while overseas

· Minimize the use of high data consumption applications while roaming, such as video streaming, file transfer and on-line games, etc.

· Avoid those websites with home pages using many graphics / flash

· Data consumption is low if only for browsing Internet / checking emails

· Check the data usage via the Vodafone Mobile Connect Dashbroad for better usage monitoring
