has anyone had anything to do with the AWA, I am intending to go to their meeet and greet morning but am wondering what type of people go to these things? Is it a mixed bag? I am eager to meet people here in Hk but don't want to feel like a fish out of water!

Hiya,

I'm a member. Thurs Chats are a great place to meet other new Expats. It's a mixed bag of young, newly married Expats and the seasoned Expat. Everyone is super friendly. Look out for Heather, she's one of the coordinators and is a lovely person. She organises lunches, tours, junks during the day and other activities to fill up your days. Today is their big fundraising bazaar at the Excelsior hotel, so don't go to Chat today.

Thanks for the tip, I would have looked a bit silly if I had turned up today! Do they have the CHAT meetings every thursday? I will definitely check it out next week if so.

Hi Twinkle, Yes CHAT is every Thurs morning at the Marriott Hotel in Admiratly.

My wife went to CHAT during our house hunting trip in August and had a wonderful time. Also, the AWA magazine has a lot of useful info in it. Really, the AWA has so much going on I wonder if I will ever see her.
