Cheap Trips From HK

I’ll be working (well interning for free ) in HK for 2 months this summer and wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for cheap weekend trips. I’ve been thinking about Bangkok… but I’m really open, basically I need to travel on a shoestring budget.

Are there certain places you guys look for last minute deals in HK? Most of the westernized sites that I use for discounted trips don’t really offer anything worthwhile that departs from HKG.

Thanks

You have to find a good travel agent here in HK.

Any travel agent in HK can beat virtually anything you find online, including priceline.com.hk

Just buy a roundtrip ticket from HKG- Manila for HK$1000. Then you can travel to Puerto Galera for the beaches.

There's also much celebrated (in the media) Air Asia, a new budget airline from Malaysia that flies to Bangkok (BKK) out of Macau (MFM), not HKG (so add about HKD 300 for ferry trip, unless deals on the latter are being offered in conjunction - I haven't a clue). Try www.airasia.com - caveat emptor (design didn't impress me much).

Travelling Tips to Puerto Galera

http://hkdiver.com/viewtopic.php?t=7260

Puerto Galera a town made up of coastal villages is considered to have the best natural harbor in the Philippines and one of the loveliest in the world. In the past it was the refuge for the Spanish Galleons in time of storm. Today beach resorts, dive operators, bars and restaurants offering services at reasonable prices.
