What cat products can I get in HK?

Hi,

I'm trying to work out what cat products I will be able to get in HK and which I will need to ship over from the UK.

The two main things I want are 1) a *large* cat activity centre and 2) a cat-it water fountain.

Are these available in pets shops in HK (I've not been able to find any on the online petstores)?

Thanks

Jen

You can easily obtain litter, litter boxes, food, toys, meds, carriers, large kitty activity centers, and food/water bowls. I'm not too certain what a "cat-it water fountain" is. Could you link to an example or describe it in detail?

[edit] I did a search for it -- it's a specific brand, no? "Catit water fountain." I haven't seen one of those specifically, but I have seen similar products.

Hi Hokuto,

Thanks for your email - a Catit water fountain would be like this one:

Have you seen any do you think? (Though I suppose if they don't sell them in HK there's no point shipping one over as I won't be able to get replacement filters for it).

and I guess I'm looking for an activity centre of at least this sort of size, if not bigger:

Do you think that's possible?

Thanks again,

Jennifer

I have seen a couple Science Diet and Eukanuba stores in Kennedy Town. I went in the Science Diet one last night and they do have some cat supplies that I haven't found in other places. Very simple choices, but I did see a couple cat condos. Did not notice anything else. They also have really cute kitties, hard not to take them all home!

i'd say that if you really want the fountain, bring one over. i've never seen anything like that in HK, and if you do find one, i'm sure it will cost a lot more here than in the UK. As for the activity center.... i've seen smaller versions of the one you posted. keep in mind the size of HK flats are usually pretty small so you might not want something so big here. i'd love one of these for our 2 cats, but i just don't have the space for it.
good luck!

Thanks canuckinhk, our plan is to get a flat with a spare bedroom which will just a playroom for the cats, so as long as I can fit the activity centre and the water fountain in the room that would be fine.

I think I'll arrange to ship them both over, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks all for your advice.

Question Ever think of pet sitting??

Hey girl, your cats sound like they are living in a wonderland made just for them!

That's really fantastic. I was wondering if you ever considered pet sitting or something of that sort for people that will be traveling....like me. It's always nice to know that when you are leaving town for awhile that you have someone to watch over your cats that really care for them.

Something to think about maybe...

Hi Chicago girl - it's not someting I've ever done, but I'd certainly be up for it if there's a need for it.... I do love cats not very good with dogs though, so I would have to be a cat specialist.

Just in case you need it, I know I've recommended these guys on posts before, but I do like to promote good businesses.....If you need pet-sitting in HK, I've been using these guys for past 2 years with my cats. They're a very nice English couple and very cat friendly....http://www.wishyouwereherehk.com/.

Also, for cat stores in HK here's a couple of places I've used which I've found to
