Commuting between Hong Kong - Phuket on a weekly basis?

Hi All

Is there any one here that commutes between Hong Kong and Phuket? And how practical is it to do that on a weekly basis?

Is there a direct flight from Hong Kong to Phuket vice-versa?

Appreciates any advice?

Thank you.

brighton : You'll find that a few pilots do this on a regular basis.

Yes, there are direct flights between HK and Phuket

Do you know any airline that fly direct without stopping at BKK? DragonAir stops doing it awhile back.

I believe that Dragonair will very soon restart Phuket (although they don't seem to have formally announced that). Otherwise you could take your life in your hands with Orient Thai.

Thanks PDLM. After searching thru. most of the airlines, only ThaiAirways seems to do it on a schedule basis but timing is a bit awkward. Hopes DragonAir will reinstate the direct HK-Phuket route. Have you heard or read this from a reliable source?

If you go here: http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/f...chkfltdep.html and change the dates you can see that Orient Thai have a flight most mornings, and Thai Sky have one some days (in addition to Thai Airways).

The Dragonair reinstatement I read on an internet forum, but one that is usually fairly reliable. I don't have a date for when though.

PDLM: Dragon Air is re-instating the Hong Kong - Phuket route on the 15 Dec 2006 as reported on their website.

The Thai Sky website looks damn unprofessional...
Apart from this, they are operating flights with old (not to say antique) L 1011-1 Tristar......

Any experience with that airline?
