Might I suggest an early Thursday in November?

An evening jetfoil, a little African chicken and bacalhau at the Solmar prior to getting the Wynn people to pony up the big bucks at the baccarat table, then an early morning vessel back to honkers.

Ah yes the swift surgical strike at Oh Moon bypassing all the weekend rif raf.

Count me in

I went to the Sands with a friend from Hawaii (he's a Chinese American doctor). We had to go to the bathroom after a meal and I got done and went to wash my hands (I'm a gweilo). I had an attendant rush up and say "are you enjoying your stay" smiling as he handed me a hand towel and offered me a mint. My friend was at the next sink washing his hands and he turned expecting the same service. The guy just looked at him like "who the hell are you" and he had to use a paper towel off the machine.

He went back and said to his wife "I go to Asia to be discriminated against for being Asian." He kind of laughed....kind of...

I sincerely apologise for the way you were treated.

Chicago Girl 28,

I am an employee of the Venetian Macau and we are affiliated with the Sands. I'm sorry you were so badly treated at our establishment and I have forwarded the link to this thread to our Guest Services Senior Manager. Please feel free to contact me if you haven't heard anything in a few days.

Again, I'm sorry for your bad experience. We mid-westerners have to stick together! (I'm from Detroit)

Aquabug,

Thanks for helping out here... I spent a fair bit of time freezing my rear end off in Detroit -- my first job was with Ford through IBM.

I have edited your contact details out of the thread, as they can be used / abused by others.

I wouldn't exactly call Detroit mid-west. If we go to Macau, we gotta hit the gokarts!

Like I said, this was just my way of venting my frustration and disappointment. I'll get over it, I know I will, but I'll never forget that night and how I was treated. I have to live here for two years plus, so I will get used to Asian customs....I just refuse to believe that racism towards Americans is one of them. Up until this point, I have absolutely no complaints, I'm enjoying every minute of life here and the Asian ways....like I said before, I won't be boarding any ferries to Macau for quite some time and I know for a fact, I will never revisit the Sands again.
Racism towards anyone in Hong Kong or Macau is not the norm. However just like in the US there are some racist people the same is here. Sadly this may not be the last case you will experience. I think we all experience some of it. Sometimes we just don't notice as it is very indirect and we may think it is just the way the person is. Hope in the future you enjoy trips to Macau more!

cerberus is an unknown quantity at this point.
yes, racism is everywhere and it is unfortunate. ask my neighbors: the second they found out i "didn't belong" they began stomping/throwing stuff on the floor etc. this is a very sad world. most people deserve to rot in hell.
