To be honest you're better off buying a few books on something like a+ .

Courses here in HK are aimed at the local market thus will be conducted in Cantonese.

Really - when it actually comes down to it - the only way to learn is to DIY.

Of course, you'll probably make mistakes along the way, but if you keep on having to haul a computer to a Computer Plaza, then you ain't really trying to effect a cure at any time.

You don't intimate what's going wrong - but the first step when it fails is to try to remove all the inessential boards - and if the 'puter works again, add one at a time till it fails.

Of course, you MUST have the POWER DISCONNECTED when removing/inserting boards into the Mainboard !

Me?

Whenever I first start up a newly home-built computer, I have ONLY the VGA board & monitor attached, and a floppy drive installed.

That way, I can't ZAP any "Viagra" Disks or CD/DVD units.

Of course, all my cables are labelled to ensure that they go to the correct components if I ever need to unplug them - that's a sensible move for neophyte or expert.

So - to summarise - you need to get your "hands dirty" to learn how to fix computers..... though in my case, the dirty hands generally come from the grime that builds up on fan blades (cleaned up about once a year).
