Talking Another "New to HK" Thread...
Hi...

I'm arriving in HK this Sunday (1st Oct). I'm going to be staying in HK for a few years.

For the first couple of months, I'll be staying in WanChai.

I'm looking to make some friends, both local and expat (I am English). I'd also like to practice my Cantonese (I can swap English, Spanish, Catalan). From what I've read on these forums, there seems to be a good community going on here .

So any drinking, language exchange mates... drop me a line on my email or add me to msn

Yes. I completed my studies in Barcelona. I love that side of the world. Love to speak Spanish and Catalan.

Are there very many Spanish/Catalans in HK?

Hello!

Aurore, yeps, I am that Alexis... how many Spanish Alexis do you expect to find in HK??? hahahaha

And extranjero... regarding your question about spanish/catalan people... sorry to dissapoint you... following official figures there are only 500 spanish living in HK (vs. 7000 French for example). But in my case, I´ve been here 3 months and so far I´ve met only 3 Spanish (2 catalan!). So.. quite difficult to find them!!

Anyway... If you want to talk in Spanish or Catalan... I am ready to do it!!!

Hey guys,

I am moving to Hong Kong in a couple weeks for work from California. I am 25 yr old Chinese American, I speak Manderin, but not Cantonese. I would love to mingle with you guys and build up my social network. Any events coming up?
