Dodgy PCCW sales tactics?

Last night 2 PCCW sales people came around and said that they had reports of problems with Now Broadband/Cable TV in the Wong Nai Chung Road area and can they check out our system.

We let them in (they had all the ID) and they then proceeded to try and get us to sign-up to more channels? Did not even look or mention our system after that?

Anyone else had this? It took a while to get rid of the pushy gits.

Complain to Ofta - that's out of order.

http://www.ofta.gov.hk/en/enq_help/complaints.html

In fact this type of complaint is outside their legal scope, but what they will do is log it and forward it to PCCW, who will give it somewhat more weight that way than if you just sent it directly to them.

No use, HK government is controlled by Li Ka Shing (ranked top 10 richest man in the world), his son is a former CEO of PCCW . but building manager or security guard should be responsible for this.

no matter how cases against them, still happen, I think until US type class action against pccw need to compesate billion of dollars, then their scamming tactic can be stopped. remember HK is a capital city, only capitalists win. wong nai chung road buildings should have better managemet than buildings

The same thing happened to me before. Two NOW TV reps rang my doorbell and said they needed to check my connection. I let them in and they proceeded to tell me about some new channel subscription offer, so I asked them to leave. I don't even know how they got into my building, since I'm live in an unguarded low-rise that requires a code for entry. I sent a complaint to NOW by email...they apologized and said they were investigating the incident. A few weeks later, another NOW guy rang my door about another promotion!

This is bad news. I'm so dissappointed to hear abt this. The last thing we need is more stress and breach of privacy.
