PAL, NTSC with Now TV

I believe that for HK television, we will need a PAL television set. However, if we exclusively use Now TV, does it matter? Can we use an NTSC TV set with broadband tv?

Thanks

if you're thinking of bringing your tv with you from the states...don't bother... they are very reasonably priced here and the ones here are "multi-system" which means you can take them anywhere in the world.

Yes you can. The NOW decoder outputs its signal in the form of three separate signals. Your tv needs to have these three sockets (coloured red, white yellow) which you select by changing the input to av or line in.

Thanks Discobay.

A follow-up: Will NTSC tv sets also work with now TV's 15 free-to-air channels? Just checking since my wife will want some Chinese channels.

Carang, I was indeed considering moving our tv out. The reason is that it is the only lcd/plasma tv we could find that will fit in our home office/entertainment center cabinet after looking at hundreds of tv's online. I'd imagine it'd be even harder to find the exact fit in HK. (I already promised my mother this tv though, so I may now have to buy a new one for her!)
