Can anybody join this quickly expanding coffee group? When and where is this going to happen? By the way, Kafa in the lobby of 8 Wyndham Street building makes very good coffee. Last edited by Andrew W Scott; 02-10-2006 at 12:15 PM.

Coffee group?!!?!! Hey is KAFA on your highly recommended list now Andrew? I would very much like to suggest Cafe Lavande on Prince's Terrace, I am attracted to their blueberry cake shown in a local magazine once, still haven't got a chance to try it out yet. So, anyone interested to go this Sat around 1pm? N

I'm meeting someone on Saturday either for lunch or later in the day, depending on when she is free. She hasn't let me know yet. If, when she gets back to me, it turns out we are going to meet later in the day, then yes I'm free to meet at 1pm. I'll let you know once she lets me know

Hi everyone. My name is Don, I'm a 30-something white male from Canada. I've been living in HK for about 3 and Half years now, but I don't really have many friends yet to just "hang out with". I might be interested to join in, though I have absolutely no idea where "Cafe Lavande on Prince's Terrace" is. Is that in Central? Well, if someone who was planning on going and knew where this place is and wanted to meet me a few minutes early, at say one of the MTR exits, then we could arrange that and just go together from there (perhaps send me a Private Message and we can work out the details). Best wishes. Last edited by BigDon; 05-10-2006 at 02:09 PM.

hi Don, i actually live close by and would walk from home without going through the heat trapping escalator. so if you know how to get to Elgin street from the escalator, then just go further up till you hit the mosque n

Don you've got to get familiar with this website: www.centamap.com It's fantastic. Find almost anywhere in HK basically in less than a minute. It zooms down to really detailed levels, even showing building names, footpaths (or sidewalks if you prefer), walkways and everything. It's also totally bilingual which comes in very useful. Please do come along on Saturday. Ciao Andrew

Could I be part of the coffee group? I just moved here a month ago from the States (California), but haven't met anybody except a few people at the bars, which isn't really the best place to chat. Maybe someone could give me some inside tips on living here on Hong Kong Island. Thanks! -Mick

Yeah, sure I can't see any reason why not. Niccy and I were going to do some Cantonese study but if there's going to be quite a few there (which looks like there might be) I'll scrap that idea and make it totally social. Anyone else who wants to come along just do, no need to post.
