Pursuing Oracle path...

Hi,

I will be taking Oracle 10g Admin I.

Any oracle DBA or Developer out there that can guide me on how to get your first few years of experiences?

What is the future like?

I think it goes without saying that experience in any field counts more than qualifications. I can't offer any suggestions as to where to start but perhaps an agency can.

Is CRM still the white elephant that it used to be? I recall companies spending millions of dollars a few years ago... just like they did on SAP type projects a few years before that ... most of the projects seemed hopelessly behind schedule and over cost.

i agree that experience is more important, but not many company uses oracle and usually they won't take people without any experience altho I am confident with pl/sql.

any dba out there wants to share their experience?

FYI .. there is an oracle users group in HK, but they've shown a fair bit of incompetance by not keeping their website live.

From my experiences awhile ago, I hardly see any HK websites that is up to par.
Even some big companies have website that is not updated at all or it only contains contact and a little bit of company info.

Nevertheless, I will check it out...
