current situation: father has permanent HKID, mother has dependant visa. i already finished college, and would like to move to hong kong and live with them. i am an US citizen.

is employment visa the only visa i could get? seeing as how i needed to be under 18 to even be eligible for the dependant visa.

I know atleast a couple of our members who are older than 18 but quite young, whose family members have managed to convice immigration that they are genuine dependants.

Worth having them email enquiry@immd.gov.hk or wandering over to have a chat with them.

I suspect a fair bit depends on the fact that you have a degree and might be old and capable enough to support yourself.
