Junk Trips - Help please!

Hi

I've organised a junk trip for some friends but the company aren;t being very helpful of suggestions of where to sail to - does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Somewhere a bit different I don't really want to go to the restaurants at lamma! Sailing from Queens Pier.

Thanks very much for any advice

Rachel

If it's seafood and a bit of a tour you're after then you could go to Po Toi which is off Stanley but easily doable from Queens Pier.

What's there?

You can take the junk to a fair number of places .. what do you want to do? Get dinner somewhere in the middle of trip?

Are you committed to starting from Queen's Pier? Personally I find that the water is now so rough in the inner harbour (due to the amount of reclamation and the fact that too much of it has vertical walls which reflect the waves) that the first and last 30 mins of any trip are very unpleasant and really spoil the day. Personally if I was organising a trip I'd do it from Aberdeen or Repulse Bay.

Just polled the people taking the junk with me and they've said they would rather take a catered lunch so I'll arrange that so now just looking for where to go.

Thanks for the tips on starting point - would starting from causeway bay make any difference?

Thanks

Yes I guess so if you are going out of the East end of the harbour - if you're taking your own food with you then I guess this should be possible. If you have a whole day then I suppose you could go to one of the smaller islands to the East, but I've never been out that way ...

Po Toi as mentioned above definitely seems like a good idea - you could anchor up and people could do a spot of swimming, relax on the deck or go ashore and explore for an hour or two.
