Lan Kwai Fong....any other pl aces/clubs for clubbing?

Heyyo,
i just arrived from Berlin/Germany and will stay in HK for about an year. If someone ever visitit Berlin, you know clubs like Tresor, Berghain, Weekend, Watergate, 103, Deep, Faces and so on.

I`m searching for clubs like theese in HK.

I dont like these touristic places with bad mainstream public and music (ex. Lan Kwai Fong)... which are the "real" clubs in HK. Or Clubs with an good athmosphere (meens, design, location -> ex. on a roof in a deep cellar in a fabrik etc...).
I like to go out to electronical stuff but good old hiphop, funk are ok too.

Are there some "illegal" partys? Maybe a row or smth that organizes partys in different places?
Or some realy big clubs?

Thanks for your help,

emino.

bloated.egos has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Red Bar & club in IFC is 1 good alternative.

hi there-
i don't know those german clubs to which you refer, but if you are looking for something off the beaten path (LKF), try checking out some places in soho. my favorite is yumla, which is teeny tiny, but they play great great music (mostly house, also have a dnb night). there's also drop, which is just down the street from yumla, which also delves into the techno.

if you find something else let me know! (i'm *relatively* new here as well)

I love Drop! Eminogrande, if you know where the Midlevels escalator is, have the cab driver drop you off on Hollywood Road. Walk downwards - you'll pass a store to your left that sells Middle Eastern/Indian slippers - walk down the steps, and to your left will be a little alleyway. If you go on the weekend, you won't miss it as there usually is a crowd (especially late night).

i don't know if you are into this, but apparently there is a gatecrasher party at club one in the ifc this saturday. it's progressive trance, so i'm kind of eh, but might go anyway.

raves etc
I'm not sure you'll find much in the expat scene for these kind of things. Yumla has the best music policy of all the clubs I've been to, but is very small. Raves and free parties are pretty rare - when they do happen it's on beaches in Lamma or in the new territories. No idea where these are announced though. Also check out www.magneticsoul.co.uk - they do a lot of events round HK.

Also, there's a festival in Victoria Park this weekend, with Goldie and Adam F playing amongst others.

der Berg Soho

ich mag Lan Kwai Fong auch nicht. Soho ist aber ganz gut und interessant. du denkst gleich an Kafka's Schloss...
