Well it is already one of the standard requirements for dependent visa application for spouse, family photographs, wedding pics and letters with envelopes. A marriage certificate will not be sufficient because they need to know whether your relationship is a bona fide one and not merely a 'marriage for convenience'. I just got my dependent visa for my hubby last week and it only took around 4 weeks for them to processed it. If you want to shortened the period of processing time, you have to include all the neccessary requirements together with the completed form when you first submit you're application.

I got my hubby his dependent pass in less than 2 weeks. We produced photocopy of marriage cert as proof. But we've been married for 4 yrs and maybe that's a difference in the processing time.
