| Skype and Worms Have installed the latest Skpe at the behest of a customer. The guy had gone all digital and who can blame him. I wish I had used Skype before. Now they are using video it solves a problem I have always had on netmeeting ---ANY WAY enough of the waffle. Did the download, nice and easy , no suprises. Did the test message . May When Tea ( For manderin people ) Mo Men Tie ( for you cantonese ) Now though I get the Norton Worm intrusion alarm occuring , Different IP everytime, but same first part of the number matrix. I have the WONDERFULL Xoftspy software and after clearing out the adware , spywear et al with the Norton and windows systems , ran this and BINGO -- something I had not seen before Winpcap as a severe threat . Now having a) Deleted all b) Googled it for info. It seems its a commercial used program. Whats the score with this? I am also ( despite the deletions ) still getting attacks. SO -- Is this all normal or am I missing something. Regards Boris FYI Being in China now , anyone who has a Red Cross Food parcel company. You have a customer. The place I am is like North Korea with Electricity ( but not every day !! ) Also while I am here thanks to ALL for the help they gave on TVU Player at World Cup time. I use it all the time here and its a godsend. I only wish it was stable enough to route it onto a second monitor . Keeps crashing when on HBO and the Viidoo site aint any good for feedback. Gonna increase the memeory to 2 GB and see if that has any effect. |

| First of all if i where you, i would scrap the software firewall and get a real hard ware one. Second, i wouldent put to much faith in those alerts, im pretty sure its just your firewall hasent been configured properly. Third, its quiet unlikely that skype was the source of infection if you downloaded from a reliable website, and not from "brother hacktivists free appz and games download page" fourth, get a port scaner such as "aports" and look up what ports are targeted and then google what services usualy use that/those ports. fifth, dont say it's port 80 :P |
