Hi, I've been here a couple of days now, and WOW! what chaos! Took me forever just to get to the tourism office. Anyway, a lil' bit of introductions: I was born in Taiwan, but grew up in USA, so my Mandarin is horrible and Cantonese is horrible-er! On the other hand, my English is perfect (ESL teacher), and my Spanish es buenisimo. So if you know a bit of Hong Kong and you're bored enough to show a foreigner around, well you just earned yourself a few free drinks! My passion is cheap food, I like the adventure and horrid risks involved! Okay, take care.

Hahahahaa!! I laughed when I read your post because you must be like my twin or close enough! I am also a Taiwan-born, US-bred, totally incompentent Mandarin/Cantonese speaker with what is now basically useless knowledge of Spanish (thanks to growing up in and teaching in SoCal!). I don't drink, but my hubby sure does, and we both love eating. We're relatively to HK (been here less than a year), but are still poking around for new friends. Let me know if you (and Helle, you too if you're reading this!) want to hang out sometime. We live over in Happy Valley.

Happy Valley is over on the HK Island near Causeway Bay, but we're actually thinking about moving to the Kowloon side, so we'd love to hear your feedback on how you like living there so far.
