Alternative alarm clocks

I'm really not a morning person and the loud ringing of my Citizen clock puts me in a foul mood from the moment I wake up. I know that in the states, stores like Sharper Image sell all kinds of quirky alarm clocks...some play nature sounds, some wake you up with light, others generate pillow vibrations. Has anyone seen such products in HK? Alternatively, where can I get a nice radio alarm clock and what's the best station to wake up to?

the shop one along from McDonalds in the IFC has Ferarri Alarm Clocks ie: sounds like a ferrari when it goes off. Maybe they have other options too.

Many stereo systems have an alarm function built in. The better ones will start playing softly, then gradually build the volume. It's a much nicer way to wake up than using a normal alarm clock (unless you were listening to metal or happy hardcore the night before).

I set my Blackberry to "alarm" and then turn if off and it wakes me up at the designated time.

Just use your mobile! You can choose exactly what tune to be woken up with, or change it daily! Not worth waking up to radio here as RTHK (English) and BBC World are only on MW, not FM.

Smile Alarm

I bought an iHome alarm clock. It fits all ipods and is a clock radio also . You can wake up to the radio or your ipod. Very cool. I have bought a couple of them - one for home one for work (althoug obviously the alarm is not used at work!).

It is around HK$1100. So not that cheap, but is great for charging and listening to your ipod.

Cheers!
