Welcome to Tai Po Shafted. Tai Po is a relaxing place w/ fresh air and open space. Which part of Tai Po do you live? I've been living in Tai Po for more than a year now and I can't go back living in the city anymore. Well let me know when you would like to meet up for tea or something. There are bike tracks all along the river, and there is also a big long stretch of skateable ground along the harbour front in the waterfront park. It's mainly used by joggers and cyclists but don't see why you couldn't use it for skating. It starts by the park entrance and follows the coast around for about 1k i think just to the pavilion south of the industrial estate. Its a nice walk, can be breezy and you can see Ma On Shan on the other side of the harbour.

have you tried the bike path from Tai Po to Sha Tin yet? I did it about 10 years ago on a bike but don't know whether the surface is smooth enough for skates. I guess its woth a go if you ever needed somewhere longer to skate.
