| Question about independent visa My boyfriend is coming to visit me soon... he wants to move to Hong Kong... i wonder if we can get married while he is here..and then apply for independent visa after getting married. Do immagration needs a lot of paper to prove the relationship? or ability to pay for my bf's expense when he is in HK? Whats the procedure of applying the visa? Besides, maybe my bf will go back to the US first after visiting me and will come back again. I wonder will this affect the chance for him to get the visa? |

| You mean a Dependent Visa (not "independent"). If you are a HK resident and you are legally married in Hong Kong then the chances of him being refused a Dependent Visa are pretty slim. The main application form you need is here: http://www.immd.gov.hk/pdforms/id(e)936.pdf And the Guidance Notes are here: http://www.immd.gov.hk/pdforms/id(e)937.pdf Have a look through them and then come back if you have any specific questions. |
