ashzz : funny you should say that .. I'm pretty worried that he's going to go the unplugged route.

Cocaine, Laila .. Sweet Chariot .. we need the hard core classic versions.. not something done with a flute and banjo.

You can do that any night in Fenwicks - I read it in the SCMP, so it must be true.

Echo that sentiment perfectly, ash.

The D&tD original Layla abs rocks. The unplugged one does not. To me EC is always best with his blues-rock guitar backed by an electric band (even it were just two - Messrs Bruce & Baker). It's amidst all that the odd slow soft one works best. Over Up On the Road (on Band's Last Waltz) was another live gem. Will he get back that far on the HK stage? Doubt it, but maybe SOYL at the most.

I agree with u HKFella. Further up on the road is an amazing # Watching EC play for John Mayall's 70th B'day was also super.

In 2004, all the guitar dudes from across the guitar world performed together at EC's three-day Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas performing rock anthems, blues classics, and bluegrass hits. Joining EC were fellow legends Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, and J.J. Cale; bluesmen Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, etc. Do you know of any place here in HK where I can look for a copy of this CD or DVD?
