How to beat the odor?

I feel really gross at this point just asking about it....but:

When i was living back home in states, I rarely needed to wear deodorant. Now that I have been living in HK, I find myself sweating immensely and the odor is getting pretty bad too. The problem is that I travel everyday into China for work, plus I walk around those ovens (i mean factories) all day.

So what do you GUYS use for deodorant? can someone recommend a really strong deodorant (for MEN) that smells nice too?

I have tried
several of the AXE flavors
Gillete
Addidas
and a few others I cant remember

Any other recommendations on things I can do to lower my body temperature to prevent over heating in this weather?

change your diet

You are saying that your BO has changed since living here in HK, and you go into China a lot. Take a look at this article.

my diet has not changed that much.....

but i do feel strongly that the cause is the hot humid weather....

in Boston / NJ / NY i worked indoors and most of time weather was pretty good.

in HK / China i work inside for a little while, then most of day i am traveling on crowded buses / trains and walking outside in hot humid weather and walking through factories. The factories are like ovens and cause me to sweat so much that i feel like im swimming.

also...every building / room you enter here is blastingly cold with A/C .... and then you walk outside and get blasted with hot humid air.

this makes your body really screwed up...and makes it difficult to adjust to outside weather. If everyone just turned down the a/c and didnt keep doors open...i think the outside air would be a bit more tolerable....as it wouldnt be like going from freezer to oven or vise versa

I agree with you on the a/c temperatures here in HK, I am always running around with a sweater, as I am always cold walking into buildings.
I know exactly what you mean..., but still the diet thing has some thruth to it, now I am not saying that you should become a vegetarian, but maybe if you eat a lot of local food, containing different ingridients from what your body is used to, that may make a difference. I notice that I cannot eat a lot of the local food as all that MSG gives me huge headaches, and I do like the food here.
As of deodorant brand names...my husband brings his deo from the US ( Axe Dry), and when I was living in the US, I was bringing mine from Germany...! But now I find it here. Maybe you should try one that has alcohol in it, in the US you cannot find deo with alcohol, that is why I would buy mine in Germany, but now I can find it here. Alcohol makes a difference for me.

man, i know exactly what you're talking about. we call it the china smell. strange enough that, if i'm in hong kong, it doesn't smell quite as bad as if i were in china. it must be the factories.

anyways, i use "medicated" deodorant and deodorant with alcohol to kill the bacteria. i forgot the name brands but they sell them here at the local pharmacies. they work wonders and i carry them around with me, especially when i go work in china.

but i don't think u'll ever be able to get rid of the smell completely though. :T

A friend of our recommended perspirex - to be bought over the internet. I can't use it as my skin is too sensitive. The best of all boyfriends uses it and it works like a treat for him. Be warned, you have to follow the instructions religously to avoid rashes.
