Leah - welcome to HK. Sha Tin is nice so good choice.

If you want to see a nice view of your new home town take a trip up to Lion Pavilion - great panorama. (no. 69K minibus from the station).

Leah, you got me very excited for a moment -- I thought that you were saying that there was a proper Shanghainese restaurant in Shatian! I've heard from a Jiangsunese (?) that there are at least two Jiangsu-style restaurants there, but haven't found them. Alas!

there's a shanghai-beijing restaurant called Jing Hu Liao Li in new town plaza, the taste is not too bad. i've just been there once, so maybe u should try it out by yourself. me personally don't love jiangsu cooking that much, i prefer Sichuan and Hunan food.

Hunan food is also one of my favorites, though I'm not too fond of Sichuanese. Thank you for the tip -- I will try to find it when I am next in HK.

correction

dear all, i made a mistake, the shanghai restaurant is actually in City Link Plaza/Shatin, called Shen Yi Zhan. i've been there for another couple times, find it really good.
